A Buyer’s Guide to Shopping for the Right Knife

Before you start shopping, it’s good to remind yourself what a knife is for – cutting things. It’s not a tool to be used to put in or take out screws, pry a lid open, hammer something down, and etcetera. It’s also not used for cutting glass, wires, steel and the likes. Although a knife is an excellent tool, it’s not an all-in-one tool. If that is what you are looking for, then what you need is a multi-tool and not a knife.

With that cleared up, here are the different types of knives to give you an idea of your choices:

*Fixed Blade

A fixed blade knife is the most common type of knife. It’s what comes to mind when you think of a knife – a single blade that is fixed to a handle. The length of the knife blade varies greatly. This type breaks into several subtypes. For example, for slicing, and ripping, what’s generally used is a tactical knife. Another type of fixed blade knife is the hunting knife. In general, you have the hunting knives for general use and a Skinning Knife. The length of hunting knives also varies from very small to that of a mini sword.

For basic camping use, the ideal knife is a fixed blade type about 5” long. If you will be using to chop off some dense undergrowth, then choose a fixed knife with a large blade, the larger the better. Other important considerations are the sharpness of the knife and how well it can hold an edge, how often you will be using it and if you will be using it mainly for outdoors or indoors.

*Folding Knife

A folding knife can have one or more blades. One type of folding knife is a pocket knife, the blades of which fold into the knife’s handle and is small enough to be kept inside a pocket. Another type of folding knife is a slip-joint type, which is a light duty knife makes use of pressure to keep the blade open.

*Locking Knife

This is a medium to heavy-duty knife that is similar to a slip joint knife except, for strength and safety purposes, it has a device that locks the blade in position when you open the knife. The lock is disengaged by pushing a release mechanism on the knife’s back strap. Locking knives typically have a single blade.

Many clichés in shopping are true when shopping for knives, especially about getting what you pay for. So, always go for quality instead of the price. This doesn’t mean you have to make an outrageously expensive purchase. There are reasonably-priced knives in the market. More than the price, though, the important thing is to do your research first to find out which knife is the right one for your use.

When Locked Out of Your Home

What would you do if you have been locked out of your home? No sweat, you can just simply call a family member to come home and open the house for you, right?

But suppose you are living alone in your house, or maybe you are alone for the week because your spouse is out of town for a business trip or for whatever reason, and you come home late at night and you found out you couldn't find your key to your house. What would you do?

Here are some possible things you could do:

Break the door of your house.
Simply sleep outside the door of your house.
Go to a motel to sleep and pay somewhere from $20.00 - $100 or more.
Call a friend to stay at your friends house for the night.
Call a locksmith and pay at least $50.00 for opening your door.

These suggestions doesn't seem to be good at all because either the outcome would be too expensive, and/or your time will be wasted, or you have to disturb some people.

Here's another scenario. You are one hour away from your house, or you are in a very, very, very important meeting. Your spouse or your child calls you that they cannot come in to the house because they lost or misplaced their key. You are the only one now who has the key to the house. What will you do?

Both circumstances will certainly give you stress, isn't it? Here's a simple solution that I have discovered. Would it be a good idea to keep a spare key somewhere outside of your house that is hidden and unknown to anybody except you and your immediate family members?

How Not To Lose Thousands Of Dollars From Your Ebay Business As A Merchant

Did you know that there are winners and loosers at Ebay? These include both buyers and sellers! If you'd like to make money at Ebay and you are new to Ebay, yes you can make money at Ebay. And of course, you can also loose money at Ebay as a seller!

In this article, let me share with you some facts and strategies that you need to be aware as a seller. If you are not aware of these things, remember you could loose a lot of money at Ebay too!

FACT #1: POSTING AN ITEM FOR SALE AT EBAY WILL COST YOU MONEY!

This is certainly true. For every item that you post at Ebay whether as auction or as a fixed price "Buy Now" item, you will pay for the posting costs. Whether the item you have posted will be sold or not, you still have to pay for posting such item at Ebay!

Example, suppose you bought some discounted fantasy knives from a store that went on a closing sale. You have decided to sell these items at Ebay to make money because you thought you bought them at a very low price thus you can make money. When you post each item for sale at Ebay, be sure you have an idea how much it will cost you to post that knife at Ebay plus your capital expense for each knife.

Let us suppose your posting expense will cost you $0.85 and your capital expense for each knife is $15.00. What if you posted that knife with a starting bid of $15.00 and only one customer made a bid at $15.00, definitely you loose on your posting costs!

Remember, it is possible that nobody would bid on your item or probably only one may bid on your item especially if it is not in great demand. So if you have ten fantasy knives to sell at Ebay, and perhaps only 3 of it got sold, while there are seven that did not sell, you will still be required to pay the posting costs even for the seven unsold knives!

Be sure to know the costs and expenses for posting either as an auction or "Buy Now" at Ebay. This includes the final sale charges. You can either integrate these costs into the initial bidding price or to the "Buy Now" price of your item.

FACT #2: CREDIT CARD PROCESSING WITH PAYPAL IS NOT FREE!

Please remember that when you opened an account with Paypal, Paypal will charge you a certain percentage from the total cost of your item sold. Based on the example I have presented at fact #1, if your knife was sold only for $15.00 based on only one bid made, you will also have to pay credit card processing with Paypal which will be based on the final price of the final bid.

Thus, in this example, you will loose money not just on your posting cost, but also on your Paypal credit card processing. Therefore, it is very important that you will also have an idea how much money you also need to recover and integrate into the price of your item.

FACT #3: NOT ALL STARTING LOW BIDS WILL CREATE A BIDDING FRENZY

Yes, you heard it right. Not all starting low bids will create a frenzy of bidding especially if the item you are selling is not in great demand. Let me show you another illustration.

Suppose you bought some very cheap pool cues to be sold at Ebay at a super low prices. Normally, you know these pool cues could sell for $25.00 each at retail stores and you bought each for $10.00 only. But then, they are very cheap that they are not very popular nor in demand. Hoping to create a bidding frenzy, you offered a starting bid of 99 cents.

What if the final price for each auction bid on your pool cues reached no more than $5.00 each, then you loose almost $5.00 on each item. What if you have bought 100 pieces of pool cues to be sold at Ebay, are you willing to loose $500 on those 100 items? Remember, you are here at Ebay to make business, not to gamble. Consider your starting bid appropriately.

FACT #4: SHIPPING AND HANDLING COSTS ARE EXPENSIVE

After the bidding is done, your next step after receiving the payment for the winning bid is to ship the item to your customer. Unless you have received shipping supplies for free, did you consider the price you have to pay for these supplies? How about the shipping expense, did you offer a "Free Shipping" or a reasonable cost of shipping and handling charge?

If you are NOT getting free shipping supplies, remember even the cost of a box to package your sold item can make your profit even a lot smaller. From the example of the pool cue which you bought for $10.00 each, what if one got a final bid of $13.00 and you had to buy a shipping box worth $1.50 for each, would you be content of your profit of $1.50 only? Remember, you still have to pay for the posting costs, Paypal charges, and lastly, the shipping expense.

Please be aware that you can also get some shipping materials for free. UPS and the US Postal Service does provide some FREE shipping boxes. However, you need to buy the bubble wrap and the other packaging materials separately. Take advantage of the free shippping boxes to save on your losses and charge the other shipping and handling costs at reasonable prices.

Unless you are sure to have a very big profit margin on your sale, do not offer FREE SHIPPING if you cannot afford it.

FACT #5: A $1 PROFIT GOAL MAY NOT ALWAYS BE SUFFICIENT FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Some business people would say, "If you made a profit of $1, you are richer by $1". In essense, it is true. But will it be sufficient for your business needs? Let us try to consider something here.
Suppose your goal is only to make a $1 profit on each item that you need to sell (irregardless how small or big they are, or whether they are low priced or high priced item). To be able to reach a sizable $200.00 profit for a one day work would mean that you need to sell 200 pieces of items, right?

Question: Could you package all 200 items alone by yourself throughout the 8-hour period of your day's work? Remember, aside from posting your goods for sale at Ebay which may take some time, packaging 200 items will be a lot of work for you. This would be equivalent to 25 packages to package per hour by you alone. Thus you may not be able to finish your work on time. Plus, you need to bring these items to the post office and perhaps wait in line too!

Would you agree that with the 200 items to package, you may need an extra help as well? To hire an extra help, you will need to pay at least the minimum wage (depending on your state's requirments). Suppose the minimum wage is $7.50 per hour x 8 hours, this will cost you $60 expense per day for labor. That leaves you $140.00 per day.

$60 per day on labor x 5 days work for a week = $300 per week of labor expense.

$300 per week on labor x 4 weeks = $1,200 per month of expense.

What about your other overhead costs such as storage cost or office rent? Don't forget you also have to pay the state and/or federal taxes for your business. Will this strategy of business be sufficient for you? Perhaps this may work for a big company that's doing business at Ebay, but not for a single person doing this business.

On the other hand, what if you have a profit margin of $10 on a medium sized item that you will sell at Ebay. To earn a sizable profit of $200 per day, you need to sell only 20 items for your 8-hour day work period. This translates to packaging only about 2-3 items per hour, therefore you will not need extra help to accomplish your goal. Thus, no extra expense on labor. This avoids you paying $1,200 per month on labor based on the above example.

WHAT TO SELL AT EBAY:

Don't just sell anything at Ebay if you want to be serious in making money. Learn to research which items sell good at Ebay; or which items are in demand. Observe the items that have been sold at Ebay. I have seen certain items that people almost always bid on, such as certain high end antique watches.

If you can identify what those items are, and you know where and how to get those high demand items to be sold at Ebay, this will certainly give you a good business.

By the way, when I write the word "Indian" in this article, I am simply referring to the Native Americans. I am not referring to the people of India.

I was searching some malls in the Los Angeles area hoping to see something unique as a birthday gift for a teen nephew of mine.

For example, a long time fan of Elvis Presley may buy an Elvis Presley chess set as part of his collection. I know my dad loves some memorabilia about Elvis but I just never realized that some company would come up with an idea of an Elvis Presley chess set.

Another unique chess set I have seen is a golf chess set. Can you really imagine a golf player to be playing chess? Or perhaps because of his love for golf, a golf player may also collect a golf themed chess set.

Good news for people who love dogs, there is also a dog chess set. For those who love basketball, there is also a basketball chess set. While for those who love sailing, there is also such a thing as nautical chess set. Aren't these things amazing?

July 4 Long Week-end To Do List

With the July 4 holiday, it's a long week-end again. Most regular workers in the US who usually work from Monday to Friday will have 3 days of rest instead which are this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In case you do not know what to do on a long week-end like these, here are a few outdoor suggestions.

1. Fishing - Because it is summertime, it is great to go fishing. If you want to go fishing on a lake, prepare the right fishing gear you have. If you are planning to go deep sea fishing or simply along the seas or pier, make sure you have the right salt water fishing gear.

Here are some tips you might want to consider:

Although it was Pacquiao's first fight in the lightweight division, David Diaz was so much overwhelmed by the super speed punches of the Filipino boxer. Diaz was knocked out at the 9th round of this 12-round fight.

Pacquiao is now the first Asian and the first Filipino boxer to win titles in 4 different weight divisions in boxing. He has won titles in junior feather weight, feather weight, junior light weight and now the light weight division.

Diaz, a former member of the 1996 US Olympic team, was badly battered on this second defense of his light weight division title. Less than 1 minute before the end of round 2, he sustained a cut on his nose bridge which made the fight a very bloody one. On round 4, he sustained a right cut on his right eye which gave him a very bloody face looking like a red painted masked face.

Also on round 4, the very determined Diaz started to have a hematoma or a black eye on his left eye with swollen lip. On the 8th round, a huge swelling can be seen on the left eyebrow of the US fighter. Referee Vic Drakulich halted the fight in two occasions, namely round 4 and 6, for the doctors to examine the bleeding cuts of Diaz.

Pacquiao won all eight rounds with the judges. It was a superbly brilliant display by Pacquiao making his combination of upper cuts and right hooks that overwhelmed Diaz. The fight was officially stopped by the referee at 2:24 of the 9th round when Diaz fell hard face down on the canvass.

Diaz was unable to stand immediately and Pacquiao even attempted to help the US fighter stand up on his feet. After the fight, Diaz was reportedly brought to Valley Hospital for suturing of wounds.

This fight made Pacquaio prove himself entitled as the best pound for pound boxing fighter. After the 6th round, even Diaz commented to his trainer, "I can handle his punches, it's just too fast."

During the interview with the boxers, the friendly and very sportsman Diaz commented, "Ya, he was too fast ... fast, fast, fast. He even joked, "...I thought Freedie was there ... cutting me too" "I thought he (Pacquiao) had a knife with him though...he was fast than what I expected."

Could it be possible that Diaz could be thinking Pacquiao's gloves look like a hunting knife to him? Whatever his thoughts are, Pacquiao simply proved that even at 135 pound weight, he is looking even stronger than ever. Pacquiao finished the fight with an unblemished face as the new WBC Light Weight champion.

Case scenario: XYZ company sells gas but does not put a billboard sign along the freeways; on the other hand a competitor ABC company has billboard signs along the freeways. When a travelling car is about to run out of gas and the driver searches for a gasoline station and sees the billboard signs of ABC company, where will he naturally go at first?

To buy something, people spend money, don't they? Therefore, if you don't make people aware of where you are and what you are selling, they will naturally spend their money somewhere else! On the scenario we have mentioned, the driver who was looking for a gas station finds ABC company selling gas will naturally spend his
money with ABC company. If he doesn't know the existence of XYZ company, how can he know where this company is? If he doesn't know what XYZ company sells, why will he buy gas there when he knows ABC company can provide his immediate need at that particular moment? Who wins the business and the sale? Will the competitor win when it quits marketing?

So, if successful business companies make use of marketing strategies to improve their businesses, is there any reason why small businesses and new business owners should not?

Although there are different kinds of marketing campaigns, at least you as a business owner should apply a few to make your business grow. Example, if you venture to do business on the internet, you must be able to do internet marketing.

Blogging is almost the same as article writing at certain times. You need to be creative on it. However, with article writing, you may also come upon a point when your mind is simply emty. You cannot think of any else to blog. It is almost you have already written everything you know.

On the other hand, here are some simple ways to make your mind click. How about getting a dictionary and see which word you can blog about. Or maybe, think of your recent experience for the past few days. Or perhaps, think about recent world events.

Just like today, it seems that my mind is simply empty of other interesting topics that I can blog about. Hmmm, maybe I can blog about simple things like envelope seal stickers, blank wedding programs, printable thank you cards, or maybe the New King James Bible.

The Blind Beggar

I have a friend who just doesn't seem to run out of funny stories. Although this story is simply a humorous one, it is not intended to hurt anyone - but it is simply related to provide humor.

The setting is in one of the poor countries in the world. A passerby happended to walk around a corner of a street where a blind beggar was waiting - begging for alms. The passerby simply took a coin from his pocket and tried to toss the coin to the beggar's hand.

Unfortunately, the coin did not land on the beggar's hand and it simply landed on the cemented pavement and it rolled a certain distance. To the amazement of the donor, he saw the beggar crawl precisely following the coin. The beggar got the coin without difficulty locating the money.

So the passerby confronted the beggar, "Why are you begging when you are not really blind?"

Surprised that he had been caught, the beggar replied, "I'm sorry, I am just a proxy for the day."

"So where is the real beggar?", the passerby continued.

The proxy beggar simply replied, "This is his off day today, so he went to the movies."

10 Successful Goal Settings

In any endeavors we will have, we always need to have a goal to be able to reach an achievement. Whether as a student, in business, and anywhere in life, we need to know of a successful way of goal setting.

Here are the most basic ones that you need to consider.

1. Knowing Your Goals. Try to identify goals that you want to achieve. Write it down on a piece of paper or in your notebook and keep looking at it to keep you reminded.

2. Be Specific. Write down specific goals. Don't write goals in general terms such as "Being a millionaire in the near future". Perhaps you could say, "I will have a monthly net income of $10,000 a month."

3. Measurable Goals. Make goals that can be counted in figures. These figures can be in terms of money, dates, or anything you can count. Example, "I will achieve grades of B and above this semester".

4. Make Time LImitations. Goal setting involve making your goals with time limitations. Example, I should be able to accomplish 7 sales by the end of this month.

5. Achievable Goals. Make goals that you think you can achieve at your own limitations. It means to say that you focus on your goals that you are capable of doing based on your ability and present skills. Example, don't make a goal of achieving a sales of $100,000 next month when you are only able to make an average of $10,000 a month.

6. List Down Any Known Obstacle. By listing down any obstacles that you know can hinder you to reach a target, it means knowing them as well. By knowing these obstacles, you can then make plans to overcome these obstacles.

7. List Your Contacts. Listing your contacts refers to resources and people who can help you achieve your goals. These people can be your relatives, professors and mentors, successful business professionals, government officials, and a lot more that are available out there.

8. Know the must-have skills that you need. Know your capability. With your present skills, do you need to take an extra course to achieve an extra skill? Do you need to have a masters degree or a doctorate degree? Do you need to have an extra training for sales?

9. List Down the Benefits of Your Goal Achievement. What will your goals give you? Will it improve your present living condition? Will it make you the best in your class and thus attract more employment offers? If I make healthy cooking everyday, will I be free from being sickly within six months?

10. Write Your Action Plan. Having a goal without acting on it is just like day dreaming. Start to make an action plan and start acting on it as soon as you can. Best of all, take action every single day and live up to your commitment in achieving your goal.

Faith is a big word to mention. I say big because it takes a lot of guts for someone to have faith. In fact, faith is related to the word "belief" or "believe".

Fact to matter is that faith is related mostly in religious terms. An example of which is faith in God. Faith in essence is just an abstract thing. This is because faith can mean believing in something that you have not even seen.

For example, do you believe that wind exist? But you can not see the wind. The wind can give a good feeling. And it can create so much destruction too when it is windy. Do you then believe that God exists? Do you have faith that God can bless you?

In the Christian world, Jesus asked, can He find faith in this world when He comes? Can we have faith even as small as a mustard seed? Indeed, it takes a lot of guts for someone to have faith in a God that has not been seen by anyone except Moses.

In the business world, faith can also be applicable. Do you have faith that a certain system can work? For example, I attended a seminar on internet marketing. In that seminar, the speakers claimed that anything can be sold over on the internet. Even a tumble weed can be sold - the buyers are usually western movie companies. But they did not say that anything can be easily sold through the internet.

As time went on, some people complained that internet marketing doesn't work. It did not work for them. However, I have also seen some people succeed in their internet marketing ventures. The fact that some people did succeed, it meant the system works. It's just that to have faith in a particular system, you also need to be patient and be persistent enough. Therefore, another fact of having faith in a particular system means that you need to have patience and persistence. So, do you believe that you can sell some large wall clocks over in the internet? How about an audio Bible?

In many instances, most people do not have faith. This is simply because most of us want to see something IMMEDIATELY. We want to see results IMMEDIATELY. No wonder many people become an easy prey for "quick rich schemes". In retrospect, for those who succeeded in a certain business system, did they apply mostly what they were suppose to do for their business venture? How about those who failed? On the other hand, did the successful ones correctly apply what they were suppose to do? What about those who failed?

Quitting is something that is very easy to do. In fact, quitting is something that many loosers always do. Do you remember the axiom that says, "Winners never quit. Quitters never win." In essence, we can always say that winners have the faith, the patience, and the persistence.

Another fact about faith is determination. Most people who have faith have strong determination in life. Christians who have strong faith in God have the strong determination to go to heaven, right or wrong? Students who have faith in themselves, have strong determination to succeed in school and in their careers.

I do not know if you who are business owners or salesmen out there have experienced what I have observed in business. There is a saying, "You can not please everybody." Isn't this right?

Certainly, that axiom is true. In correlation with that maxim, no matter how good or excellent a product you have that you are promoting in business, not everybody will appreciate it. In fact, not all prospective customers will even believe in what you declare as true - even if you are really telling the whole truth about your product. Do you agree with me?

For example, people may believe that cars like a BMW or a Rolce Royce is a very excellent car. Yet, not all will buy any of these cars for some reason even if they can afford it. I have recently found that the best healthy and safest cookware available in the market today is produced by Saladmaster. Yet not everybody would buy a Saladmaster cookware even if they can afford one. In comparison to the BMW and Saladmaster cookwares, is it the financial reasons alone that deters others to buy despite the good benefits that these products can give?

Well, there may be times that business can give you discouragements. Even if you share the whole truth to people, not everyone may believe in you. As I have been reflecting in some down moments of my business, I have come upon a parable (as told by Jesus in the Holy Bible) that holds true not just in Christian life but also in business.

When a preacher goes to the open market and teaches about a Christian message to the people, there would always be four classification of people that you will find. Some would not outrightly believe in what this preacher may preach because of Satan's efforts. Others, will gladly receive the message at first but when problems come up, the Christian message is disregarded or forgotten. Others too may accept the message for a short while, but it is not deeply rooted in their faith and these teachings can also be easily disregarded. On the other hand, there are also those who will certainly believe in the message and this will really grow in them.

The parable I am talking about is the parable of the sower. When a certain farmer started to plant seeds, some seeds fell on the road side where the birds easily took them away - thus these seeds never grew. Some seeds fell on thorny ground, and when these seeds grew they were easily choked by the thorns. Some seeds fell on stony ground where when they grew, they were not deeply rooted and when the heat of the sun came up, they easily weathered. While those seeds that fell on the good soil, they really really grew.

I have strongly believed that this parable can also be applicable in marketing and sales. Some customers would not easily believe in your claims or presentation. Others may believe you at first, but when others start talking about their negative opinions of your product, these will also discourage your potential customers. While there are also other customers who will really see the truth of what you claim about your product.

So if you are new to business marketing and sales, while there may be people who will believe in the truth you are preaching about your product, always remember that there will also be people who will be skeptical. Should you then be discouraged about it? NO! Simply be happy about those people who believe in the truth of your product. For those who did not believe, that is their choice and you are not to be blamed of their decision.

And speaking of skeptical people, did you know that Jesus had a skeptical disciple as well? Did you remember Thomas? Thomas was told by his fellow disciples that Jesus had already risen from the dead. Did the other disciples of Jesus told Thomas the truth? Yes. Yet, Thomas did not believe them. In fact Thomas even said he would only believe if he can see Jesus alive with the scars on His hands and hold the scar on the side of Jesus.

I remember when I was in med school, we had a professor who was a heavy cigarette smoker and he taught us about the lung and lung diseases. During his lecture, our professor admitted that cigarette smoking can really cause cancer, yet he himself was smoking during our lecture. Our professor knew the truth about smoking, yet he did not bother to stop smoking. That is his decision, right? And if he suffers the consequences of his decision, who is to blame?

Let those who believe reap the benefits of your product, while those who do not - let them suffer the consequences of their decision. So in marketing and sales, if you really believe and are passionate in your product, follow the SWSWSW rule - "Some will, some won't, so what?"

Franchise opportunities are great! Think about it. You will be doing a business with an established company simply by completely copying their strategies without reinventing the wheel.

However, do you really know what it takes to do franchise? Number one, do you have the start up capital to do the business? Some companies have franchise fees from $500,000 to as high as a million dollars. Can you afford that? On the other hand, there are also companies that you can franchise from as low as $6,000 to $200,000 dollars. At that range do you have the start up capital to start with?

Yesterday, I was fortunate to attend a Franchise and Opportunities Expo at Riverside, California. Although I already have an existing home based business opportunity which I am doing simply part time, I went there to personally learn first hand about franchise businesses.

A lot of booths were there each of which were occupied by a company promoting their respective franchise or business opportunities. There was a coffee vending company that offered a $6,000 franchise for their coffee dispenser of Star Bucks. There was a printing company that offered $30,000 franchise. There was even a mobile photo company that offered $130,000 franchise. Max GXL which is distributed by Max International was even there too.

Even if you may not have enough start up capital, some of these companies are willing to partly finance the franchise fee. Some were willing to finance 75% of that franchise fee. So, if the franchise fee was $130,000 and 75% of which was financed for $97,500, do you have the $32,500 immediate cash to pay up front?

There were free seminars that were also going on. Oone of which I attended discussed about selecting a franchise business. That seminar I attended was an eye opener for me because I have learned that although about 75 percent of the population today want to establish a business, only 5 percent of those will really succeed.

Again, from that seminar, the speaker told us that you will not be able to have a successful business overnight. It may take time. In fact, a question was raised like, "How soon can a business owner start paying himself from his business?" The speaker said, "Probably in six months, 1 year, or maybe year and a half."

Another thing I've learned from that seminar is that the franchise fees are not just a one time fee. It may be like once a year, every two years or even every five years. And once you stop paying these franchise fees, you are on your own, and you can not have the privilege to use the logo of the mother company of your business nor the business support.

Despite the expensive cost of franchise, it does not even give a 100% guarantee that you will succeed. Again, they say, only 5% will certainly succeed. I remembered my brother who lost about $70,000 in two months when he joined a celphone franchise. After two months, my brother closed his business.

Reflecting on what I already have, I think my part time business opportunity is the right one for me. Simply by investing in a set of healthy cookware systems, the company will give you and me the privelege to do business with them. In less than two months I was able to pay off my set. The company is called Saladmaster.

On the other hand, instead of promoting coffee through the coffee dispensers which can cost you $6,000 for a start up, with Saladmaster, you will be able to promote health through healthy food preparation.

Although, each of us who are presently doing business with Saladmaster have different success levels, I have already received good sum of money in return of my investment simply by doing this part time. After all, potentially receiving an extra $300 - $800 a week is not bad, isn't it?

Economic Stimulus Tax Rebates Now In Bank Accounts

The US government's issuance of tax rebates is now starting to be deposited by the Internal Revenue Service. For people who will be receiving rebates via direct deposits to their bank accounts, direct deposits will be made based on the last two digits of a taxpayer's Social Security number.

Those who have Social Security numbers ending from 00 to 20 will receive their rebates on their bank account by May 2; those with Social Security numbers ending from 21 to 75 will receive their share by May 9. On the other hand, those who have Social Security numbers ending from 76 to 99 will receive their bank deposits by May 16.

According to the IRS, for those who filed tax returns on time last April 15, 2008, their checks will be mailed by July 11. However, the government's paper checks will start to be released by May 9.

This U.S. government's economic stimulus package is expected to reach 130 million households. The rebates will range from $600 for an individual taxpayer to $1,200 for each couple. While families with children will receive an extra $300 for every child.

According to sources, the IRS have started depositing rebates at 8:30 a.m. EDT Monday (4/28). Their goal is to complete 800,000 direct deposits every day for the first three days.

While this economic stimulus package will help many families of the US in this slowed economy, how each family will use their rebates will certainly differ from each other. Perhaps some families may use it to pay bills, use it to help buy things they have long wanted to have, or use it for health purposes.

Spring Training and the Great Outdoors

Now that spring time is here, it is now time to wake up from "hibernating" inside our homes. Let's enjoy the sunshine and mother nature!

The great outdoors can indeed include indulging in leisure activities in sports such as horseback riding, rock climbing, or other outdoor sports like golf and many more.

But if I have to learn something new, I usually read first then apply my theoretical knowledge into use. So, if you are new to horseback riding, read about horseback riding first; if you are new to rock climbing, read something about rock climbing first. Or if you are new to golf, read something about golf first, then apply what you have learned.

When I first came to California in the year 2000, an uncle of mine was able to buy a decent house in the Southern California area for about $170,000. I said, someday I can buy one for myself and my family.

As I was surfing the web, I came across a site with listings of homes under pre-foreclosure. This list in the greater Los Angeles area alone, has hundreds of homes listed under pre-foreclosure! Wow, I was quite surprised!

Pre-foreclosure is a stage when the home owner is not able to pay a month or two regular payments to the lender - such as the banks. If the owner cannot settle this problem, the problem would come to the point when the property would be foreclosed.

Of course, we cannot blame people when bad circumstances come to them such as unemployment, health problems, and a lot more. Once the affected people face such circumstances, they may no longer have a regular income to pay their bills - and that includes paying the mortgage.

Once a property has been foreclosed, the home owner suffers a bad credit history. Imagine, when you have a bad history credit, you can't even qualify to rent a small apartment! As a result, I've seen many homeless people walking around in the greater Los Angeles area too! What's worse, all the equity you have invested for your home would all be gone. The banks won't even repay you for this!

American Indian Artifacts

I remember when I was just a young boy, I usually watch cowbow movies. Aside from being a cowbow, I also wanted to be a Native American Indian too with their bow and arrows!

Of course, as a grown up, I've learned that you can't play two roles at the same time. But my travel through Arizona and New Mexico reminded me of my childhood fantasies.

During my travel, I actually happened to stop by a store selling Native American Indian artifacts. It fascinated me to learn that really the American Indians use natural materials in nature just to make a bow and arrow. For example, a bow may be wrapped with leather and Native Americans don't use an ordinary string in a bow - but they use an animal derived material called sinew.

The Holy Bible portrays many love stories. The greatest Bible love story is of course God's love for man - as He sent His only son to die in our place for our sins. Yes, man was doomed to die because of sin. And this is Godly love.

However, love between human characters are also portrayed Biblically. One of the most famous was the love between Ruth and Boaz. Ruth, a Moabite, was a daughter-in-law of Naomi, an Israelite. When Naomi's sons died, Ruth begged to stay with her mother-in-law even when Naomi had decided to go back home to the land of Judah.

Ruth became famous for her strong statements towards Naomi by saying, "Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God."

So Ruth went with Naomi to Bethlehem in the land of Judah. There Ruth worked with Naomi in the fields reaping. Soon Ruth found favor with the nearest kin of Ruth's deceased husband. This man's name was Boaz.

As the turn of events came to a romantic affair between Ruth and Boaz, they later got married. Bible Story Of Joseph

The Bible story of Joseph is one of my favorites. This Joseph is the son of Jacob who had a coat of many colors.

While Joseph has eleven brothers and one sister, he had become the apple of Jacob's eye. This made Joseph's brothers jealous and envious of him. So much more that this was aggravated when Joseph told his brothers of his dreams - the sun, moon and stars bowing to him, and the sheaves of his brothers bowing to his sheave.

Their anger and hatred on him became more evident when they bound Joseph into a pit and sold him to the traders who in turn sold him as a slave in Egypt to an Egyptian official named Potiphar. The brothers even deceived their father Jacob - tearing Joseph's coat of many colors and splashing it with blood from one of their sheep - and they showed Jacob the coat claiming that Joseph was killed by a lion.

On the other hand, God was with Joseph, and Joseph found favor with his master Potiphar - making him charge of Potiphar's household. However, temptation came to Joseph when Potiphar's wife tried to seduce him. With Joseph's refusal, Potiphar's wife accused him of trying to rape her - which caused Joseph to be sent to prison.

With many years of stay in prison, Joseph met the baker and the butler, whose dreams he correctly interpreted. The baker was put to death while the butler was sent back to the Egyptian palace to work.

While the Pharaoh was bothered by a dream, all of the Pharaoh's wise men and magicians could not interpret this dream. Thus, the butler remembered Joseph and recommended him to the Pharaoh. This was a great moment for Joseph because with God's help, he was able to interpret the Pharaoh's dream correctly. As a result, Joseph was awarded to be a ruler in Egypt second only to the Pharaoh.

Joseph was able to wisely manage the economy of Egypt by storing large amounts of grains and food in their granaries. When famine came throughout the land of Egypt, the Egyptians had nothing to worry as they were economically prepared.

As the famine had spread to the other parts of the world, Joseph's brothers had heard of the prosperity in Egypt. Thus they were sent to Egypt by their father Jacob to buy food. They came to Egypt and was recognized by their brother Joseph who was now a high ranking government official in Egypt. Although, he allowed them to buy the goods they needed, Joseph also tested them by accusing them as spies, and even brought them to the Egyptian prison.

He released his brothers for prison except for one and he told them to bring his younger brother Benjamin. They did bring Benjamin so the other brother who was still in prison could be released. Happy to see his younger brother, he invited all his brothers to a feast. Yet, all the brothers still did not recognize Joseph and were wondering why they were treated nicely after bringing them to prison.

Yet, Joseph tested them again by putting his golden cup in Benjamin's sack of grain. They were caught by Joseph's guards and all of them were so bewildered why all these series of events have been happening to them. Yet it was Joseph's plan to finally reveal himself to his brothers. On this occasion, he did finally reveal himself, and his brothers just couldn't believe that Joseph is still alive. You can just imagine all the surprise that his brothers have and the fear of retribution.

Well, Joseph forgave his brothers telling them that how he was brought to Egypt was all a part of God's plan to save their families. Imagine the joy and disbelief when their father Jacob heard of the news that Joseph is still alive.

Once more, Jacob met his son Joseph when Joseph requested that all their families be relocated in Goshen. Yes, this is just one of the most heart touching stories in the Bible. Read the Bible yourself. You can buy a Bible online at The Bible Source.

To exchange links between sites is one strategy that's being done by many webmasters to increase a site's link popularity. This is popularly known as reciprocal links exchange.

What one commonly does is simply send an email to another webmaster, asking his permission to exchange links between their two sites. If they both agree, they then put links towards each other's site. For just one link request, this can be easily done.

Funny prank gags make parties and gatherings fun. I'm just wondering what parties and gatherings would feel without laughter - pretty sure you'd agree with me that it would be BORING!

I remember attending one christmas party where we were requested to prepare gag gifts. I had a hard time going throughout the mall near us just searching for gag gifts. I did find one but with so much difficulty.

As we gave out our gag gifts, our party was indeed filled with so much laughter that you could imagine people start to have tears in their eyes. Fun and laughter should play a big role in informal parties and gathering.

Strategic Internet Marketing Course That Really Works

An internet marketing course was not known to me way back in 1997. I have not even heard about such terms as "page rank", "linking strategies", the importance of domains, and a lot of other things. I just wanted to sell on the internet then because I've learned of the increasing phenomenon of the internet.

In 1998, I had the opportunity to build a website where I can sell some products - courtesy of one internet company. I then started promoting my site by distributing pamphlets in my neighborhood and by emailing some friends and prospects. I kept doing this but I never generated a single sale.
